Lady in Red

I'm not exactly a dress sort of person in RL, yet in SL I always find myself gravitating towards the pretty, and this dress is no exception.

From A-bomb, Time After Time is the picture of beauty, with the added bonus of being in a totally awesome shade of red. The dress conjures images of the 1940's or 1950's and gives just enough class alongside the bucket full of sass.

Magika "ROOTS"

When Sabina Gully plurked her new "roots" editions of her hairstyles about 30 minutes ago, I literally fell out of my skybox trying to get to Magika to get them.

I've been a fan of Magika hair for a long time, and I've watched as Sabina has developed more and more amazing ways to deliver her unique, recognisable styles. This time is no exception to her amazing talent.

As is usual for newer hairs from Magika, the hair comes with the option to wear the style mirrored. Meaning you get to decide which side the parting falls, which is amazing flexibility when it comes to pairing a style with makeups or accessories.
They also come with a hud including colour options and a really easy resizer. I love having the colours on a hud, saving me from having to resize 7 different hairs. I can resize once, get it perfect, then just one click and I've got a new dye.

The roots textures themselves are amazingly realistic and really give that "wow" factor.

I grabbed "Jess" because I loved the short funky style. But Sabina has already managed to add roots packs to a few of her current styles. They're available in store and on the marketplace, and I know I'll be getting more.

Bottle Bird

Sometimes I fall in love with something, but don't get a chance to wear it. This skirt from BottleBird is one of them.
It was sent to me a few weeks ago as a gift, and I loved it the minute I tried it on. The hand-drawn detailing on the high waist and the soft material made me think about wearing it constantly.
So today, I jumped at the chance and put it on.
Dirty Adored, designer at BottleBird has sent me a few pretties recently, all of amazing standard just like this one. The sculpt and texture work shows just how much effort goes into a design.
If you haven't checked BottleBird out yet, go now! Right now! No excuses!

The shirt is from one of my all time favourite designers, Nyte Calligari (Nyte n Day). I haven't made it down there in a while, and the layout is completely changed, but one thing that did strike me is Nyte's use of sculpts. I've never been disappointed with anything from that store, and the new stuff is no exception. Nyte has astounded me by improving her collections with shirts, and even coats! Again, go now... no excuses!

Luxuria part 2

In a world where cellulite and "bloaty" days don't exist, lingerie can become a big obsession.
Personally I love a great set of panties, so when Ephedra blogged the new knickers from Luxuria I fell in love instantly.
We'd both recieved the review packet, so I launched mine into the centre of my living room and tore at the wrapping on the cute little boxes, oohing and aahing at the quality and detail on each piece.
It wasn't until I checked again that I realised Ephe had left me a couple to look at too! She knows my style almost too well, letting me review a nice bright "lipstick red" set named Dot, and a cutesy little floral, Olaenka in Lavendar.

Luxuria is an upscale intimates line, which is part of the "5th and Oxford" brand. Roslin Petion and CJ Carnot work together to bring you mostly hand drawn and sculpted clothing.
5th and Oxford has never failed to astound me with their attention to details, natural looking textures and clean lines, and Luxuria is no exception.
I can honestly say, these undies are not for private wear only! I can see myself wanting to wear them again and again.

Definately head on over to Luxuria and take a look around. As Ephedra mentioned in her post, they have a pretty sweet contest going on right now. Design them a logo and you could walk away with 2k and a bunch of other prizes!
For me? I'm gonna go find a quiet spot and sit and consider something.
How come Ephedra knows my taste in panties, yet hubby has no idea? Hmmm...

Lazy Summer

Summer is coming, and I felt like a new look before lounging on my beach. So I pulled out this tube top and shorts from *Dreams* that I'd had sent by owner Sanura Snowpaw.
I love the total casualness of the outfit. The simplicity that works so well with my Artilleri maggie tattoo, and shows off the *Dreams* Flaws tattoo across my stomach. The flaws tattoo overlays the stars of the maggie tattoo naturally, with its beautiful wording "Flaws are just perfections you didn't know you had" giving a little more depth to the skin I can now show off.
Of course, my new look had to have piercings, so I slipped in these gorgeous lip rings, also from *Dreams*. With their venus drop, and double ring style they give an edge without taking away too much girlyness.

All in all I'm amazed by all of the pieces Sanura showed me. She's a very talented designer, with skills in a variety of items, from tattoos to piercings and girly corsets to cute shorts.

Get on over there and grab your new summer look.

Feeling Red Hot

Valentines is heading our way, and I'm sure many of the loved up types are starting to plan their evening. Of course a major part of that planning will be the outfit designed to get your partner sweating... and when this hit my inventory I KNEW I'd found one.

Red Hot is the newest creation by Christine Svenska of CS Fandango, and wow is it shocking. The folder comes filled with over 30 different items including -

2 dresses, 1 diamante (prim) thong, 1 set of nipple tassle pasties, 2 pairs of shoes, stockings, gloves, bracelets and a choker. The clothes come in all possible layers giving limitless options!

That is one of the many things Christine excels at, every outfit in her store comes with more options than you can shake a prim stick at, and her prices are very reasonable!

Red Hot is one of those sets that give you options for any occurance. The first is a lovely midlength dress, perfect for a meal or for going dancing. A minidress is included for going to a club. Finally Christine has included the pasties, and a thong, both prim and covered in diamante's ready for "bedtime". Plus, if you want to add a little extra spice, the thong, pasties, and jewelery come in both scripted and unscripted options. The scripted ones allowing your partner to tear them from your avatar in that moment of passion.

This is definately a set not to be missed. The whole outfit is red and glittery, the primwork is delicate and well done, and the scripting is reliable. Christine has also included all of the information notecards you could need, and if not you can contact her and be sure of first rate customer service!

Get on down there now and get it!

Bloggers Challenge - Closet Clean Out

Luna Jubilee posted an interesting challenge.
Everyone seems to be having a good inventory cleanout, with it being the new year, and Luna has asked bloggers to show off something they found when cleaning.

Here's mine...

Yes, somewhere back in time I was a fan of goth culture. In fact, that hasn't changed. I love the style, I love the way things are so OTT.

The dress in this picture was something I bought within about 6 months of joining SL. It's called Gothic Lolita and was from Goth1c0. It reminded me of the lolita style outfits many celebs were wearing in RL at the time, and I loved the poofy skirt!

The boots are Goth Princess from a store called Dejavu Designs. They're one thing I will never throw out. The detailing is delicious, from the textured skulls on the legs and feet, to the tiny little chains and claws adorning them. I'm not sure the store exists anymore. But the owner Sexxxy Dejavu is still around in world.

Magika is a current favourite for hair and not as old as the other two. This style, Earth, is actually in the new freebie box. I especially love the stakes through the bun at the back.

Finally the skin is Rockberry, and one of the few dark lipped skins I've actually liked.

All in all this is a look I don't rock normally, but one I used to wear all of the time. Sorting my inventory and putting these on brought some amazing memories back.

Go on, what do you have buried?

Look of the Day #1

I got some gorgeous boots given by Pixieplum Flanagan of BabyMonkey today and just knew they'd fit with some of my current inventory favourites. So what better excuse did I have to post my first ever look of the day?

So here it is...

LOTD25jan10

The boots are BabyMonkey's MukLuk boots, that come in a variety of colours. Pixie kindly sent me the fatpack and it has so many choices I couldn't decide at first. I finally settled on this dark brown to get the contrast I wanted. They're lovely for those wintery Mondays like the one I had today; and feature a nicely textured band around the middle and a pretty bow that holds the pompoms.

The turtleneck and shirt was a freebie at the Le.Look anniversary giveaway, and is from Zaara. Not only do I love the jumper because of it's amazing shading and detailing, but also because it led me to Zaara. I'd heard of the store, but never quite made it over there. Now I know what I was missing, and snapped up these pants on my first visit.
The Ishaya velour pants are the first white pants I bought in SL, and I just love them. They work with a casual or more formal top, and like everything else I've bought from Zaara, are perfectly detailed and shaded.

Ever the bargain hunter, I got the hair and hat from Magika. It's called Criminal and is in Sabina's current free hair box, along with more than 10 other amazing styles.

I'm especially proud of the nails. Purchased on a whim from Candy Nails, these prim nails seemed to magically fit themselves. They come in different sizes for any hand size, and move themselves into position with zero effort on my part. These are the #P040 Black Lock nails and feature a cute little heart and chains on 2 nails, the other 3 are silver and contrast perfectly.

I always wear my own shape, that has been tweaked and nudged over the past year or so. I'm stuck in my ways and haven't bought another since I made this. It fit's all of my lashes exactly, and looks great with this Belleza skin, Alyson Tan (VIP group gift).

Add my very favourite eyes, Caribbean Sea from Poetic Colors, and I'm looking very much like my current me hehe. This is subject to change when I whimsically fall in love with something else.

So there you have it, my first ever LOTD... ready for a misty monday school run.

Til Next Time

for Ruby - Convert in Training.

I love boots in RL and in SL, but never really seemed to find the time to update mine in world. So today, with a few hours to spare I went boot shopping. I didn't know what I wanted, just that they had to be killer and something I could wear over and over and not get bored.

I thought I'd found them, so I threw a message to a friend who told me "Get to Bax and buy some real boots."

I can honestly say, Bax Coen's boots hadn't interested me at all. I'd seem them on the feeds, and even been to the store but I just wasn't bothered by them. But my friend started talking about the features. Less than 900L for 4 color choices, tons of options for changing the look of the boots (including zipper, sole, heel and toe) and a very easy, perfect fitting system.
Not to mention the choices for the cuffs that includes a very useful jeans fold.

Needless to say, I gave them another chance, and grabbed the browns pack. I wasn't dissapointed! I had them fitted to my shape perfectly within minutes and the options mean I now have a pair of boots I'll probably never take off.

So Ruby, this is for you...

I'M A CONVERT! Are you?

Nyte and Day (and all other occasions)

Back in the days when I was a shopping newbie, a friend dragged me kicking and screaming into a store she'd been going to regularly. She persuaded me with the promise of a shopping mecca. A place that does it all and some. I didn't believe that anywhere could be that good.
I was wrong!

Nyte and Day has been my "must go" shop ever since. It's my first stop if I want something new in my virtual closet, and the one place where I can never visit without dropping a few L's.
Fortunately, Nyte Caligari makes sure she prices everything fairly. With many items falling around the 200L mark ( and that's a full outfit! ) and very few are much more.

With valentines day sneaking up on us, I decided to drop by and see what newness Nyte had on offer in the lingerie department and as I trusted, I easily found some treats.

Personally, I can't beat a sexy corset and suspenders for that "come to bed" outfit. Arden says it with bells on. The outfit comes with all possible layer options, and will definately leave no doubt in any man's mind.
The detailing on the corset is amazing, right from the cut, to the bones and even in the hooks and eyes. The lacing down the back is perfectly placed and shaded, and the creases make it breath-takingly gorgeous. It comes in a variety of colours, so choose the one you love the most and strike a pose nobody will forget.

Of course, not everyone wants to tease their partner so obviously. So if you'd rather take a softer approach, I love the seduction sets. Each comes with the babydoll and bra options and again comes in a variety of colour sets.

Like everything at Nyte and Day, the detailing is amazing.
Seduction is a satin set, accented with lace that gives a gently, subtle quality. As usual the shading is lovely and gives that air of reality we all crave.

Whilst browsing the lingerie, I noticed a new (to me at least) section of skins!
I honestly hadn't heard that Nyte had begun to sell skins, and my excitement made my RL partner jump.
I dashed over and started trying demo's and reading the vendors like my life depended on it.
I fell in love with the "Cat Classic" skin, which is an "evolution V2" skin. Not sure what that meant, I took a look at the info card in the demo and learnt that these skins can actually be tinted! So if I want just a touch more tan, I can do that myself. That was enough for me!
I bought the makeup I wanted (at an amazingly low price, that I remember as being under 200!) and put it straight on with the biggest smile on my face. Finally Nyte really does do nearly everything.
Unfortunately the skins don't seem to come in fatpacks as yet.
Edit: Since publishing this post I have heard from Nyte that she created those skins in 2006 and will soon be removing them. I'm so glad I noticed them when I did as she is unsure whether to create more.

Honestly I could go on for hours about how much I love Nyte. The store has something for every occasion, and nothing is priced out of range of even the poorest resident. Nyte herself is a friendly, helpful business owner, and is always fast to reply to an enquiry.

Of course, this posts has gone on too long already, but I couldn't leave without some shots of some Nyte and Day Jeans. These ones are Essential Jeans in Acid.

Now, I issue a challenge (because I ALWAYS wanted to do this).
BLOGGERS: What store could you blog for hours about? Which is your first stop for any shopping trip? Which store do you have a fond memory of?

I want you to dig into your personal SL, forget the trends and forget the rules. My challenge to you is:

Pick one store that you have personal reasons to love, be it a memory or because you are addicted to shopping there. Write a post saying why you love that store.

Easy eh?

Til Next Time.

Waiting for Summer

Every morning I look out of my window and sigh. More rain and cold weather, and another day in a coat and hat, battling the icy blasts of wind as I dash around on school runs and other outdoor chores.

I'm ready for summer, so when I came across this purchase in my inventory I couldn't resist using it for my first post.

I first came across Pink Outfitters when I was on the hunt for a sheer blouse, and this was another thing that caught my eye as I cammed around the store. In fact it was just one of many things, and just that one visit made me drop the LM into my favourite stores folder.

The Socialite Romper is a must have for any summer wardrobe. It's amazingly textured and the details are very well drawn, even on the sculpted belt, cuffs and collar.
When I spotted this one in dark blue, I just had to have it. It's perfect to wear with a pair of pumps of even some comfy flats and I just know I'll be wearing it a LOT.

The romper is available in a ton of colours, just like most of London Dailey's designs at the store. Everything at Pink Outfitters is offered in different colour and texture options, and London has something for every occasion.

Check them out here.

Until Next Time
