A new me in a strange new world

Returning to SL this past week has been so much fun. Between buying up all of the awesome new mesh items that I missed out on this past year, and organising the Ulaa event, I have found myself spending tons of time in world. 

My favourite thing ever so far has to be the SLINK hands and feet, and of course the shoes which I plan to blog in a massive post this week. 

The slink hands have made everything so much prettier and amazingly easier. Buying shoes without having to either deal with system feet or stress myself out over the HUD's and matching to skins is the best thing to ever happen since mesh. 

Of course, as I plan for the future of this blog (please excuse me whilst I find time to give it a makeover) I have made sure that I have hunted down the bargains as much as possible. Of course, sometimes I can't avoid those extra spends. It's not my fault that it's all so pretty!

Hey Girls! 

This is my first post on GforGirl and I am really excited to be here. 

I'm Wendy Riaxik (Wendy Densmith in search) and I'm sixteen years old. I am blogging here to represent the roleplayed teens of second life, and I will be hunting down all of the funky and fun stuff that is suitable for teenagers. So... 

Don't you just hate it when you find a new store to love, and then learn that it is closing for good. 

Yeah, it happened to me today. 

I was scanning through some feeds and blogs looking for somewhere to shop for some cute summer clothes that my Dad would approve of. It's heating up and I really wanted something cute and casual to wear whilst I hang out with my friends.  

I'm sixteen and I really don't think dad would let me out of the house in a short skirt or low cut tank. So, when I found this post on Seraphim about The Sea Hole's closing sale I decided to go and see if they had anything on offer that would work. 

I am really glad that I did because I managed to pick up these shorts and the gorgeous retro blouse for just 50 L each! I also picked up a few other things that I will try to show you before the weekend. 

The pieces are amazing quality with fab textures. I especially love the texturing on the shorts and the fact that there are so many styles and choices in the store. The blouse is mesh and comes with a variety of sizes. I usually wear a medium and this one fits perfectly. 

If you haven't checked out The Sea Hole before now then please do go and take a look before it closes. I wish I had found it sooner and I just know that I'll be spending a lot of time and Lindens there before it goes forever.

Then I found this at the dressing room and it's made that need worse. I swear I really will go soon. But for now I'll just share Soignee 2011. I think the picture says it all.

50L Fridays - Katatonik

  I always seem to miss 50L fridays. I'm too dizzy to remember what day it is at the best of times, so to remember to check for the bargains is beyond me.

Luckily for me, this week's even ran all weekend and Katat0nik made it totally worth it with this super sexy corset.
My RL hubby's eye's popped out of their sockets when I showed him it, so I had to grab a photo and show it off.

Going to the chapel...

Spring is here. Which means the start of that dreaded wedding season.
Like most girls I love a good wedding. The flowers, the tears, and seeing a good friend tying the knot to the person they love. It's all so amazing and each wedding leaves its mark in my memory.

But the part I hate... trying to find the perfect outfit.

It has to be pretty, and show some effort has gone into dressing for someones special day. But it can't upstage the bride, and it shouldn't draw too much attention.

This dress from Icing does just that.




Petit Baiser is white, with an intricate blue pattern, making it understated yet still pretty enough for those pictures.
I love the attention all of the clothes at Icing show. The seams are lovely, and the patterns matched expertly.

The shoes are from Exclusiva, and called Talia Sandal's in Silver. They are beautifully textured as I'd expect from VictoriaV McMillan. Unlike many sandals these days, they are not prim feet! Which saves time on matching them to the skin I want to wear. Always a plus.

The skin, Lana, is from AtomicBambi. The first place I go when I want new skin. AtomicSparkle is an amazing skin artist, as you can see from the freckles and shading on this one.

Last but not least, the Hair is Lillian from Truth.
Truth isn't a store I'd usually buy hair from, but when a friend insisted I check it out, I think I fell in love with the realistic texturing and the wide selection of styles.

Nyte and Day (and all other occasions)

Back in the days when I was a shopping newbie, a friend dragged me kicking and screaming into a store she'd been going to regularly. She persuaded me with the promise of a shopping mecca. A place that does it all and some. I didn't believe that anywhere could be that good.
I was wrong!

Nyte and Day has been my "must go" shop ever since. It's my first stop if I want something new in my virtual closet, and the one place where I can never visit without dropping a few L's.
Fortunately, Nyte Caligari makes sure she prices everything fairly. With many items falling around the 200L mark ( and that's a full outfit! ) and very few are much more.

With valentines day sneaking up on us, I decided to drop by and see what newness Nyte had on offer in the lingerie department and as I trusted, I easily found some treats.

Personally, I can't beat a sexy corset and suspenders for that "come to bed" outfit. Arden says it with bells on. The outfit comes with all possible layer options, and will definately leave no doubt in any man's mind.
The detailing on the corset is amazing, right from the cut, to the bones and even in the hooks and eyes. The lacing down the back is perfectly placed and shaded, and the creases make it breath-takingly gorgeous. It comes in a variety of colours, so choose the one you love the most and strike a pose nobody will forget.

Of course, not everyone wants to tease their partner so obviously. So if you'd rather take a softer approach, I love the seduction sets. Each comes with the babydoll and bra options and again comes in a variety of colour sets.

Like everything at Nyte and Day, the detailing is amazing.
Seduction is a satin set, accented with lace that gives a gently, subtle quality. As usual the shading is lovely and gives that air of reality we all crave.

Whilst browsing the lingerie, I noticed a new (to me at least) section of skins!
I honestly hadn't heard that Nyte had begun to sell skins, and my excitement made my RL partner jump.
I dashed over and started trying demo's and reading the vendors like my life depended on it.
I fell in love with the "Cat Classic" skin, which is an "evolution V2" skin. Not sure what that meant, I took a look at the info card in the demo and learnt that these skins can actually be tinted! So if I want just a touch more tan, I can do that myself. That was enough for me!
I bought the makeup I wanted (at an amazingly low price, that I remember as being under 200!) and put it straight on with the biggest smile on my face. Finally Nyte really does do nearly everything.
Unfortunately the skins don't seem to come in fatpacks as yet.
Edit: Since publishing this post I have heard from Nyte that she created those skins in 2006 and will soon be removing them. I'm so glad I noticed them when I did as she is unsure whether to create more.


Honestly I could go on for hours about how much I love Nyte. The store has something for every occasion, and nothing is priced out of range of even the poorest resident. Nyte herself is a friendly, helpful business owner, and is always fast to reply to an enquiry.

Of course, this posts has gone on too long already, but I couldn't leave without some shots of some Nyte and Day Jeans. These ones are Essential Jeans in Acid.
